Hey everyone! I’m Ashley. I’m a 21 year old architecture student in New York City. I love to explore places and things. Watercolor is my favorite medium and I can shamelessly say that I’m a bookworm. One of my favorite things to do during my free time is play volleyball.
I’m influenced by each place I travel to and passionate people. I’m inspired by the stubbornness and drive of Frida Kahlo and the energy and grace of Florence Welch (Florence + the Machine).
I would love to explore the fields of neuroscience and psychology and also photography. In the future, I would like to share the history of and preserve the beautiful works of architecture that have survived until today. Then, find new ways to merge them into our modern urban fabric. I’m all about merging ideas and exploring the boundaries of what’s old and new. I strive to find the beauty in all things. One of my favorite quotes by Elisabeth Kubler Ross truly embodies that. She said, “People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.”
With this blog, I hope to challenge my creative process across a new medium, and hopefully yours as well. I hope to tackle ideas surrounding self-empowerment and behavior to help us become more aware of our biggest supporters and critics – ourselves. I want to share my interests and just live fully present. Lastly, I hope to inspire you to explore your mind and surroundings because things are much more interesting at the end of your comfort zone.
